SOUTH LOSES SEASON SERIES TO ROSEMOUNT
Hits Even At Six Each, But
Runs Are Different Story

Cougars shake hands
with Irish after regular season final.
Irish Shutout
Cougars 11-0
Two Home Runs For Rosemount Seal Win
The Lakeville South
Cougars finished off their inaugural campaign on Monday night by
hosting Rosemount in their last season game of the year. The hits
were even at six each but Rosemount had the luck of the Irish with
two home runs as they shut out the Cougars 11-0 at Cougar Field.
Alex Messick was the
starting pitcher for the Cougars and went three innings, giving up
just four hits, but those hits came in his last inning as the Irish
touched the Cougars for six runs in the 3rd with the help of a
two-run homer.
Blake Nicols came on in
relief in the 4th and set the Irish down 1-2-3. In the 5th he ran
into some trouble as Rosemount capitalized with two outs on a Cougar
fielding error and two wild pitches, scoring two in the inning.
Chris Erickson pitched
the 6th inning and walked two batters before giving up a homerun to
right field that bounced off the Cougar scoreboard, scoring three
for the Irish.
Offensively the Cougars
once again couldn't seem to find the timely hit when they needed it
most. They left runners in scoring position in the 1st, 2nd, 5th and
6th innings. The Cougars only put together one multiple hit inning
in the game as the sophomore pitcher from Rosemount kept them off
balance most of the afternoon.
The Cougars and Irish
were both even in hits with six each.
Leading hitters for the
Cougars were...
Marlon Amaro... 1
for 3
Nick Daniels... 1 for 3
Jose Martinez... 1 for
3
Mick Wald... 1 for 2
Eric Watts... 1 for 2
Nick Altavilla... 1 for
3
The Cougars are now 5-15
in their first year as their regular season schedule is finished.
They will now participate in the high school 1-AAA Section Tournament
starting Thursday with a game at Farmington at 5:00.
