The Cougar varsity baseball team lost a tight one 2-1 at Elko Field
as they hosted Jefferson Wednesday night.
Alex Messick pitched
six innings for the Cougars, giving up his only hit to the first
batter of the game. After that, Messick let his defense work for
him, getting six ground outs, three fly outs and two pop-ups over
six innings, but also scattering six walks. Messick allowed two
walks in an inning only once, in his last inning of work.
Messick was 1 for 3 at the plate with a double, plus he also scored
the game's only run in the bottom of the 6th.
