CHASKA NO-HITS
COUGARS IN FIVE INNINGS
On an unseasonably cold night where the temperature dropped into the
lower 40s, the Chaska Hawks shut down the Cougar hitters by tossing
no-hit ball for 5 innings.
The Hawks won by a
score of 11-0. A young Cougar team and numerous errors made the
night easier for Chaska. Hawk pitching seemed to keep the Cougars
off balance most of the evening.
Donnie Sullivan and
Eric Watts were the only two Cougar hitters to drive a ball out of
the infield, but to no avail as the cold seemed to settle into the
Cougar bats as well.
The only Cougars to
reach base for the evening were freshmen Nick Altavila and Joe
Novak, who both walked.
Altavilla scored the
lone Cougar run on an unassisted groundout to the 1st baseman by
junior Nick Daniels, who picked up the only South RBI.
The Cougars are now 1 -
5
on the season. The Cougars are at home next as they face Kennedy for a
4:15 afternoon game on Wednesday (4/26).
