# 2 RANKED EDEN PRAIRIE
SHUTS DOWN COUGAR BATS
Perennial powerhouse Eden Prairie came to town on Monday night and
their pitching shut down the Cougar bats as the Eagles rolled to a
9-0 Lake Conference victory at Cougar Field.
The Eagle pitching held
the Cougars to just one hit on the afternoon, an opposite field
double by junior 2nd baseman Nick Daniels on a 2-2 pitch during the
second at bat of the game. From there on the southpaw pitching of
the Eagles kept the Cougar hitters off balance the rest of the game.
Eden Prairie out hit
Lakeville South 12 hits to 1 for the game.
In the field the
Cougars showed flashes of defensive prowess by turning three double
plays in the game.
"That was encouraging,"
said Coach Zeise. "We're getting better defensively."
The Cougars next game
is on the road at Bloomington on Wednesday night against Jefferson (4/19).
The Cougars are now 0-3
on the season.
