COUGARS WIN BIG OVER ROSEMOUNT, 14-3

The Freshman-B Cougars won handily over the Rosemount Irish by a score of
14-3.

Mike Schlink pitched a great game, going five strong innings, giving up four hits while striking out seven.

"This was a game in which the fundamentals of baseball were perfectly exhibited," said Coach Adam VanGrinsven,

"We had 16 plate appearances in which the hitter took the count to three balls."

Leading hitters for the Cougars were...

Shane Allen... went 1 for 2... 2B, 3 Runs

Reed Carlson... 4 BB, 3 Runs

Justin Trapp... 3 for 4... 2B, 1B, BB

Said VanGrinsven, "One of the big highlights was Joe Cooper. Joe had a bases loaded double, walked twice, and scored once."

The Freshmen-B Cougars are now 1-5 on the season. They play at Eastview on Wednesday (5/1).
