Jr. Varsity Coach
Coach Schmidtke was
raised in St. James, Minnesota where he played baseball, football
and basketball. Growing up as the son of the head varsity baseball
coach gave him every opportunity to learn the game at an early age.
Coach Schmidtke
attended St. Cloud State where he played football for two years. He
later transferred to Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Arizona where
he played baseball.
Paul played
amateur town ball for Hampton for 16 years and recently retired
after the 2005 season.
Coach Schmidtke
currently coaches the Cougar junior varsity team and also the summer
Senior Youth 16-AAA team.
Paul also
helped develop the first South school team ever in 2005 as his freshman baseball
team was made up solely of players that would be attending South
High School before the split.
Coach Schmidtke is currently the
Special Education teacher for Lakeville South High School.
Paul is married to
wife Angila and has four children, Bailee, Mac, Blake, and Evelyn.
