The Cougars lost 15-5 to the Rosemount Irish in 5 innings. The
Cougars scored 1 in the first when Chane Donnelly tripled and scored
on a past ball.
Rosemount scored 2 in the second and 3 in the third.
The Cougars
came back in the top of the 4th and scored 3 runs to make it 5-4.
Hitting in the 4th were Ben Sollin, Alex Ducaj, Randy Sleeper and
Joe Zander.
The Cougars
then gave up ten runs in a wild 4th inning. Cougar pitchers hit two
batters, walked three and gave up four hits including 2 triples.
Taylor Jans started the game for the Cougars. Luke Sleeper and Alex
Seeling both pitched in relief.
The Cougars
travel to Northfield next.

DOWNS COUGARS FRESHMAN-A
The freshman-A Cougars lost to Burnsville by a score of 12-2. Luke
Sleeper hit a two run home run for the Cougars.
APPLE VALLEY GETS BY FRESHMAN-A COUGARS 5-3 (4/20)
The Cougar Freshman-A team lost a close one to Apple Valley by a
score of 5-3. Coach
Golberg called the game, "A tough loss."
The Cougars
had a one run lead in the 7th but ended up giving up three runs to
lose the game by a final score of 5-3.
The Cougars are 2 - 3 on the
season so far.
COUGARS BEAT KENNEDY 6-5

The Freshman-A Cougars won a close one over Kennedy by a score of
6-5. Said coach Golberg, "We played one of our better games."
Taylor Jans pitched 6 and 1/3 and Luke Sleeper came in with bases
loaded and only one out. Sleeper struck out the next two batters for
the Cougar win.
Dan Noering also had a great game at the plate going 3-4 and scored
3 times.
Ben Sollin has also been hitting the ball well and had a pair of
hits in the game. The Cougars scored four runs in the 4th inning on
singles from Noering, Sollin, Gergen; a double from Bryce Blohm and
a triple by Alex Ducaj.
FRESHMAN-A DROPS GAME TO
EAGAN 7-1
The Cougar Freshman-A lost to
Eagan by a score of
7-1. Luke Sleeper started the game and Ben Ruth came
in during the 4th inning.
The one and only Cougar run came in the 4th when Jake Walker was hit
by a pitch and later scored on a past ball.
The Cougars
had just four hits in the game and left several runners on base.
FRESHMAN-A
DEFEATS EDEN PRAIRIE 7-4
The Freshman-A Cougars were victorious over Eden Prairie, topping
the Eagles 7-4.
Alex Ducaj pitched the first 3 innings, gave up 4 runs on 4 hits,
walked 3 and struck out 2. Jake Walker pitched the remainder of the
game giving up only 1 hit, no runs. He walked 1 and struck 1 out.
Pitching again was very solid, both pitchers threw strikes.
Eden Prairie scored 1 in the 1st, 3 runs in the 3rd and Jake Walker
shut them out the rest of the way.
The Cougars
scored 2 in the 4th. Ben Sollin tripled and later scored on an
error. Then Alex Seeling singled and was driven in when Luke Sleeper
also tripled. The Cougars then scored 5 runs in the bottom of the
5th. Sollin led the inning off reaching base on an error from the
catcher. Joe Zander then singled and Bryce Blohm reached on an error
by the short stop. Ruth then hit the third Cougar triple, scoring 2
runs. Cody Gergen also singled in the inning.
Freshman-A head coach Kirk Golberg had this to
say after the game, "A
much better game for the Cougars. We played better defense and the
bats started to come around. We have three more games this week so
hopefully we can keep it going."
The Cougars play next versus Eagan.
FRESHMAN-A IN
LOPSIDED LOSS

It was a tough start for the Cougar
Freshman A team in their season opener as they lost a 16-1 game to
Lakeville North.
Freshman A head coach Kirk Golberg said, "Our pitching was not
bad, we had a tough time in the field and at the plate."
Luke Sleeper pitched, gave up three hits, struck out six and walked
three in four innings. Ben Ruth, John Kloos, and Alex Ducaj all
threw in relief.
The Cougars
scored their first and only run in the 1st inning when Dan Noering
walked and Ben Sollin later singled to score Noering. Cody Gergen
and Shane Donnelly each had a hit in the game.
Coach Golberg "We struggled at the plate... we need to get
outside and practice and the weather has put a hold on that for a
while. We will get better."
The Cougars next game
is scheduled for Apple Valley on Thursday, April 12th, but that game
will change due to weather.
